Plans for Gateway International Raceway are Promising and on Schedule

The reopening of the Gateway International Raceway has received unprecedented support and cooperation from local and state officials, industry insiders as well as racing fans across the region. To date, specific long-term development or financing plans have not been formulated, discussed or presented to anyone. Any claims of a snag in the future of this plan would be erroneous, including potential future state funding.

A recent article that claimed the Gateway International Raceway development project has hit a snag is both misleading and factually incorrect. It is impossible for a plan to hit a snag, when there has not been a plan submitted or discussed.

We are very excited about the long-term agreement we have reached with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), and the NHRA Midwest Nationals will return in October 2012 in great style.

This commitment from the industry illustrates the future viability of the track and the interest to revitalize this wonderful entertainment venue. Plans are underway for the track to open with limited road course racing events yet this year and for a full season of racing in March of 2012,

We will soon be announcing a schedule of events that will energize racing fans and demonstrate the future viability of Gateway.
