St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous returns May 12-13, 2017

Nostalgia drag racing, hot rod custom car show, pin-up girl contest, rockabilly bands, burn-out contest

The fourth annual St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous will take place May 12-13, 2017 at the Gateway Motorsports Park Dragplex. The popular throwback event will feature nostalgia drag racing (including Nostalgia Funny Cars), a pin-up girl contest, a traditional custom car and hot rod show (nothing newer than 1972) and rockabilly bands.

All-nostalgia drag racing will include: Nitro Nostalgia Funny Car exhibitions, the Nostalgia Gassers Racing Association, the Great Lakes Funny Car Association, the Nostalgia Drag Racing League, the Victory Nostalgia Super Stock Series, the Ozark Mountain Super Shifters and bracket racing for 1979-and-older vehicles. More groups to be added! Contact drag strip manager George Whitaker ( georgew@gatewaymsp.com ) or John Bisci ( john.bisci@gatewaymsp.com ) to get your car club or racing group involved with the show.

For those who like to smoke their own, a burn-out contest will be held after the car show.

The pin-up girl contest will be open to ladies 18 and older.

The traditional hot rod and custom car show is open to cars 1972-and-older, including rat rods, traditional customs and lead sleds, choppers, hot rods and bone-stock autos.

The band schedule will be released at a later date.

The 2017 event will feature early parking on Thursday afternoon as well as a Thursday night cruise to Ron's Chuck-A-Burger for a kick-off party. Friday evening will feature time trials and qualifying. Saturday is the big show and runs from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday will once again be reserved as the rain/make-up date (we proved in 2016 that we will do everything possible to get the show done on Saturday night!).

Watch GMP’s Facebook and Twitter pages for updates, schedules and pricing. Click here for the event’s Facebook page.

The detailed run schedule and classes will be announced at the PRI Trade Show in Indianapolis in December.

Don't waste your time at a wannabe event...attend the 4th Annual St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous at Gateway Motorsports Park...it just keeps getting bigger.
